so Bubba is doing great FINALLY!!! Brian, my smart husband, bought an organic litter that has an attractant for long-haired cats and almost immediately after he set the litter box on the floor he went. I never in my life thought I would be so happy my cat used a litter box or that I would be blogging about it, but he did and I am. Three Cheers for no more having to clean up after my cat!!!

I look at the clock & it's 4:30 am, why am I awake?
Okay party people I would like to state for the record that I am not a parent. I have no children of my own to speak of, no diapers to change, no babies to nurse, so why am I waking up at 4 freakin 30 am???!!! Oh yeah that's right I have two cats instead of babies. One of those cats, the one Brian picked out, is sick. I mean the kind of sick that's really, really gross and you wish you could call someone else to come and clean up after him. (Rewind to sometime between August & September) Our little Bubba likes to go outside. He loves to go out in fact and for the past three months we've let him out the front door to have free reign over the yard. All was right in the Rouse House World until Brian and I come home from work one day to smelly, runny, splattered and squirted from one end of the house to the other, cat poop. It's the most disgusting thing I've experienced in my life thus far. We had no idea what was wrong with the little tike so we took him to the vet, along with a sample of the you-know-what, and all we found out was that he ate something he shouldn't have. (Fast forward in time to the recent past of two weeks ago) Since Brian and myself had no clue what it was that Bubba ingested we decided we would still let him go outside because he loves being out there so much. We foolishly thought what happened a month ago would not happen again; silly us. It's a typical week night, Brian and I our sound asleep with LaLa laying on my chest and Bubba at the end of the bed, when out of nowhere Bubba pees on the bed!!! But not only does he pee on the bed, he then gets up and repeats what happened a month ago. What's worse is that it's the middle of the night when this is happening and it isn't as if we can just put the cats outside the bedroom, shut the door, and go back to sleep. No! First, we have to find Bubba and shut him in the bathroom so he won't go all over the house again. Second, we then have to clean up all over the apartment, I am talking about the kitchen, pantry, dinning room, living room, front hallway, the bathroom, our bedroom, and our bed. Our B-E-D bed people!! AAAHHH! Third, we have to give him a bath because the nastiness is all over him as well and finally we have to figure out a way to bar them from the second bedroom in such a way that they can't get to the door and pound on it to let them in or be able to hear their poor meows for whatever is left of our precious sleepy time. Oh and did you catch the second bedroom part? No, well let me go back. As a result of Bubba's lack of bladder control he soaked the blanket he was laying on, the bedspread, the bed sheet, the mattress sheet, the mattress pad, the mattress cover and the mattress itself. All of which have to be washed promptly to get out any possible stain or odor. Did I mention it was before 5am in the morning yet? So, we did all of what needed to be done and quite grumpily fell into a short slumber before the alarm went off at 7. This story is not over, oh no it's not even near finished, but I will save the rest for later. ~to be continued..~

For Those Who May Be Confused
If you are not visiting this blog for the first time I would like to say thank you for coming back and I want to tell you the reason for this drastic change. When Brian and I started the blog it was with the sole intent to keep the lines of communication open between ourselves and our friends & family in the south. The blog was a way for us to let everyone know how we were getting along in New England as newly married couple and to share with you the reader anything that might be worthwhile. While Brian did agree to help me with this new endeavor, blogging about his personal thoughts and life was not exactly his cup of tea. After much indecision on my own behalf I have decided to take it on as my own. I felt the need to give myself a fresh start and with that said this is the end to my first post.
